This policy explains how Star Locksmith ("we", "us") collects and uses personal information through starlocksmithmn.com, and the choices and rights you have. What we collect
- Information you send us: name, phone number, email, service address, and the details and photos you include in a request.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and request logs, processed by our hosting and security provider to deliver and protect the website.
- Analytics and advertising data: only if you accept cookies (see below).
Why we use it and the legal basis
- To answer your request, schedule and perform the service (performance of a contract, or steps you ask for before one).
- To keep the website secure and working (legitimate interest).
- To measure site use and advertising results (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- To meet legal, tax and accounting duties (legal obligation).
Cookies and tracking
Essential storage keeps the site working and remembers your cookie choice. Analytics and advertising tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, the Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel and Microsoft Advertising or Clarity, load only after you click "Accept" in the cookie notice. Until then, Google tools run in consent mode with storage denied. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising without your consent. We share it only with service providers that act on our instructions: website hosting and security (Cloudflare), communication tools used to reply to you, and, if you accept cookies, the analytics and advertising providers listed above. We may disclose information when the law requires it.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where GDPR applies, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Request and service records are kept for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet tax and legal duties, generally up to 7 years. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months. Server logs are kept for a short period for security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, object to or restrict its use, withdraw consent, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale or profiling. Send your request through our contact page. We will verify your request and reply within the time the law requires (30 days under GDPR, 45 days under US state laws). If we decline, you may appeal by replying to our decision. You can also complain to your local data protection authority or state attorney general. We do not discriminate against you for using these rights. We honor Global Privacy Control browser signals as an opt-out where the law requires.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limit access to personal information to people who need it to serve you.

Calls, texts and WhatsApp messages about your request
The checkbox on our request forms lets us call, text or WhatsApp you about your service request, such as follow-up questions, scheduling and service updates. It is required to send a request form, because these are the channels we use to confirm and follow up on your request. It is not consent to marketing messages. If you prefer not to agree, you can call us instead.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and its own privacy terms apply to messages sent through it. Mobile information and messaging consent will not be sold or shared with third parties for their marketing.
