Automotive Locksmith

Car lockouts, replacement keys, key fob programming and ignition repair for most makes and models.

How estimates work

Not sure which service you need?

Locked out, lost keys, or a key that will not work?

The right service starts with what happened. If your keys are inside the car, the immediate job is access. If every key is missing, you need a replacement key and a check of the vehicle’s programming requirements. If you still have a working key, making a spare is a different request from an all-keys-lost job.

A remote that will not unlock the doors does not always mean the entire key needs replacing. Tell us whether the car starts, whether the physical key works and whether the problem affects one key or every key you have. Those details help separate a key or remote issue from a vehicle fault.

What to send for a useful estimate

  • Vehicle: year, make and model, plus the key or fob type if you know it.
  • Situation: keys locked inside, all keys lost, a spare needed, or a key that has stopped working.
  • Location: the street or garage, access instructions and whether the vehicle can be reached safely.
  • Existing key: say whether any working key remains. A photo of the fob can help identify the request.

Have identification and proof that you are authorized to access the vehicle available. Coverage depends on the exact vehicle and key system; a brand name alone is not enough to confirm compatibility.

A replacement key should do the whole job

For a replacement request, agree on what is included: the key or fob, any emergency blade, cutting, programming and testing. A remote that opens the doors and a key that starts the car may involve different functions. Check the agreed functions before the job is complete.

If you have already bought a fob, share its details before arranging a visit. A similar-looking case does not establish compatibility. We can discuss whether your request is for car key replacement, fob programming or vehicle entry.

Questions before you book

Can you help if I have lost every car key?

Describe the vehicle and confirm that no working key remains. Replacement options depend on the year, model and key system. Compatibility and the scope need to be confirmed before an appointment.

Will the price include the fob and programming?

Ask for an itemized estimate that identifies the supplied key or fob, cutting, programming and any visit charge. Programming-only work and a complete replacement are different jobs.

Should I replace the ignition if the key will not turn?

A key that will not turn is a symptom, not a diagnosis. Tell us whether another key works and describe any damage or sticking. The appropriate repair depends on an assessment; do not force the key.

Planning your estimate

All prices are estimates

Your final price depends on the time and type of work involved. It is confirmed with you before any work begins.
